Funeral services in memory of Clifford William Byrd, 20-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Byrd of this city will be held Friday morning at 10 o’clock at the residence of his parents, 810 East Market Street, Rev. J. Frederick Rake, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will conduct the services. At the house the male quartet of the church composed of Ray Dorsey, Joe Rice, Charles Badgley and John Sidener will sing. The Baptist Church male chorus, of which the decedent was a member will sing at the grave at Oak Hill where interment will occur. There will be 50 voices in this chorus. “”Sleep Thy Last Sleep” will be sung at the grave. The deceased was a member of the chorus and this song was a favorite with him.
